I came across this article I wanted to share. The link is pasted below. This article describes how easily it can be to fall into the traps of Facebook and to start an inappropriate relationship behind the back of your spouse.
More importantly though, is this article also follows up with five tips you can use to proof your marriage against Facebook. If you can follow these practices, your chances of keeping a strong healthy marriage will increase. Use social media to make life easier....not create problems in your marriage!
Five Tips to Proof Your Marriage From Facebook
Facebook has been listed as one of the factors leading to four out of every five divorces. With over 50% of marriages ending in divorce, Facebook is the cause of four out of every ten marriages to fail. Let's stop this trend in social media. So Everybody Knows Where Everybody Goes
I ran across this short video about a pastor in New Jersey that is encouraging his entire congregation to give up Facebook. He suggests that Facebook is ruining relationships. Many of the congregation are not willing to do this.
Other suggestions are to use the same Facebook account for both parties or to share passwords so each person can look at what the other is doing. Again, most of the congregation are not even willing to do this. Do you find it strange that two people in a married relationship are reluctant to share a password with their spouse?

Protect Your Marriage from Facebook
by: Greg Ward
Today I added a new entry to my blog list. I wanted to shift gears a bit and post something that was beneficial as to why this blog was created....and that is how to protect your marriage from social media. The blog I added are some simple rules that a couple can follow that will make their social media experience fun and safe instead of being a threat to their marriage.
Take a look and put these simple rules in place in your relationship. You'll be amazed at how easy it is and how much more you and your spouse will enjoy Facebook!

Social Media is Destroying Marriages
by: Greg Ward
OK, my first blog about how social media and Facebook in particular are destroying marriages. Facebook has been around long enough now that there is enough data collected to support the fact that Facebook is responsible for wrecking marriages. One might argue that it is still a person's fault and that they are using Facebook in an inappropriate way, but hey, we are all human and we all can easily fall into temptation. Facebook is basically a temptation that is easily accessible.
To kick off the discussion, I wanted to post this video below. It's the story of one man's loss of his wife after 20 years of marriage due to her addiction to Facebook.
Let's hear your comments about the affects of Facebook on marriage.
